Work and Products
The label Illit already exists for over 10 years and has its origin in a self-sewn leather backpack, which quickly became a topic of conversation. Due to the great interest, I began to make and sell it on demand. After my training as a tailor, I studied fashion design and now work as a designer and costume designer in Berlin, New York and South Africa.
My work is shaped by two important influences: I was born in Berlin, but because of my Greek roots, I spent part of my childhood on the island Corfu. Every year I am drawn back there for a few weeks, and so you can find in my work a connection between urban style and Mediterranean flair.
In my store, I would like to offer various products that I am convinced of and stand behind. All products are made by hand and are sustainably produced. Quality and craftsmanship are my first priority.
With the birth of my daughter, my focus has turned to children's clothing. Because of the experience I gained in the family business of furriers, it is easy for me to work with the materials, fur and leather.
The current collection includes, among other things, a warm and cozy vest made of natural lambskin. This vest is not only durable and robust, but also sustainable. It can be worn by a child for over 2 years and can be passed down many times due to its high quality. In addition, it is naturally degradable and does not pollute our environment.
